Warba Bank and Omniya Sign Strategic Sponsar
In a step that reflects their shared commitment to supporting sustainable development and promoting corporate social responsibility, Warba Bank and Omniya have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expanding cooperation in implementing environmental initiatives designed to promote a culture of sustainability and encourage the community to adopt environmentally friendly practices. These efforts contribute to national endeavors to protect natural resources and enhance the quality of life for future generations.
This partnership stems from both parties’ belief in the importance of institutional collaboration and the private sector’s active role in advancing sustainable development through initiatives that deliver tangible impact. The partnership goes beyond the traditional concept of corporate social responsibility, positioning it as an integral part of the national development framework that balances economic growth with environmental preservation.
Warba Bank continues to strengthen its position as a financial institution that places significant emphasis on sustainability by adopting initiatives and projects that generate positive environmental and social impact and support sustainable development objectives. This approach is rooted in the Bank’s belief that economic development cannot be separated from environmental preservation, and that true investment begins with building a more aware and sustainable society.
The MoU reflects this approach by strengthening cooperation with national entities specializing in environmental initiatives, creating a positive impact on the community and promoting a culture of public participation in addressing environmental challenges.
Commenting on the partnership, Ayman Salem Al-Mutairi, Senior Manager – Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Warba Bank, said that under the terms of the MoU, Warba Bank will support the environmental programs and activities implemented by Omniya, particularly initiatives focused on collecting and recycling plastic. These initiatives are among the key efforts contributing to reducing waste, minimizing environmental impact, and promoting the circular economy, in line with global best practices in environmental conservation.
These initiatives also aim to raise environmental awareness among various segments of society and encourage individuals and organizations to adopt responsible practices in waste management and recycling. Such efforts contribute to reducing carbon emissions and preserving natural resources.
In the same context, Ms. Sanaa Al-Ghamlas Chief Executive Officer of Omniya, said: “The partnership includes supporting the fourth edition of the ‘Omniyat Madrisitc’ initiative for the 2026–2027 academic year, which is considered one of the leading national initiatives for promoting sustainability among school students. The initiative engages students in awareness programs and practical activities that reinforce the concepts of recycling and environmental conservation.”
Al-Ghamlas added: “The initiative focuses on instilling positive environmental behaviors among students from an early age, contributing to the development of a generation that is more aware of the importance of environmental preservation and capable of contributing to a sustainable future. It also measures the initiative’s environmental impact by monitoring the quantities of plastic collected and assessing its contribution to reducing carbon emissions and preserving environmentally valuable areas.”
The MoU highlights the importance of strategic partnerships between the financial sector and organizations specializing in environmental initiatives, serving as a model of integration that contributes to launching impactful initiatives that deliver sustainable results and support national objectives in the areas of sustainability and environmental protection.
